Michelle Obama: 'If It’s Good Enough for Our Kids, It’s Good Enough for All of Our Kids' "We have hosted youth workshops on everything from modern dance to classical music to spoken word poetry." NOV 19, 2012 • BY DANIEL HALPER

At an event at the White House for the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program awards program, First Lady Michelle Obama praised arts in children's education by saying, "if it’s good enough for our kids, it’s good enough for all of our kids."

"[It is so critical that we preserve arts education in our schools," said the first lady. "It is absolutely critical because we know how important it is for our children’s development. We all know. Every one of us who are here in this room will do whatever it takes to make sure that our own kids get access to sports and music and arts and recreation. So if it’s good enough for our kids, it’s good enough for all of our kids, right?"

For that reason, Obama said, she's helped promote in children's education from the White House.

"And that’s one of the reasons why we’ve worked so very hard, and it’s been a labor of love to make sure that the White House is a showcase for America’s rich cultural life. And we’ve worked to open our doors as often as possible to as many young people as we possibly can. We have hosted youth workshops on everything from modern dance to classical music to spoken word poetry and so much more. And we’re looking for another four years to do even more," said Obama.

Dear M/0 ,,, Your family is only to be used as a good example of a very bad example for American families ,,, “DO AS I SAY AND NOT AS I DO” ,, is hardly leading by example .

I’m waiting for the day someone promotes actual primary subjects in school, such as reading, writing and math.

We can’t master these essentials and keep ignoring them; why should I be concerned about “the arts” until my kids learn essential skills?

i think art and music and language should be in schools. it’s good for children to have creative expression early because it stays with them. THIS WOULD HAVE TO BE IN ADDITION TO real english, real math, real science, and real history, not howard zinn history. of course that means a complete overhaul of a union libtard driven corrupt education establishment. but i think monkey bars should be on play grounds, didge ball is great and self esteem course for children are crap. but i’m old. i certainly don’t need some incompetent fat-ass entitlement creature telling me how to do anything.

The condescending, affirmative-action, equal-opportunity Worst Lady opens her pie-hole again.
