Years ago in Los Angeles you could double up to $2.00 which made for a lot of great deals.

Have you eBay-ed any of your finds? I ask this because so many coupon food products are products we don’t eat. We avoid MSG, hydrogenated oils, etc. as best as we can, but I’d like to try couponing free stuff to sell on eBay.

No. However, since I can get a lot of stuff I don’t need, I have started bartering for things I do need or for items easy to rebarter. I think this is essential for Survivalism. For example, I have already traded stuff like body wash and BO sticks for bottles of Grey Goose. Then I trade the Grey Goose for stuff I do need. If we go into deep Survivalist mode, stockpiled Grey Goose is a great barter chip to trade for essentials. Also if there are long power outages, just drinking the Grey Goose can help ease you past those periods.

If you have a “Save a Lot” near you they have 10 for $10 sales. Also, check out the $ stores & grocery store coupons. I also have 2 online coupon sites that e-mail coupons two or three times a week. In fact I have about 50 coupons to use this coming week. I especially like the dog food coupons as I have 2 dogs. When I had 4 cats I used most of the cat food coupons. Look for potatoes, rice etc. in packages not boxes as boxes are easy for bugs to get into. Look for buy one & get one free which is very common here in Florida. Good luck & its fun to search for good buys.

When stores double up on coupons they “eat” the difference. That is probably why they don’t double more than a dollar anymore.

Spent waaay too much on really great Szechuan food today. It was our son’s 16th birthday so it was worth it.

I’m getting some good deals on stock up items for Thanksgiving. Green Giant canned veggies are 2 for 98 cents right now, usually 1.49 a can since the 0bamanation. I bought a case, or maybe two...ha-ha!

Stove Top Stuffing is 88 cents, Betty Crocker potatoes au gratin are 88 cents as well. And butter, two for four dollars. Unreal, as it was 3.69 for a pound before T-Day madness. I’m old enough to know better that prices will kick up after the holidays. That’s why I’m stocking up my freezer and pantry now.
