Yes, I do think access to healthcare is a right. I believe healthcare, since it deals directly with life, death, and the quality of life for everyone, is not an appropriate place for the profit motive to reign supreme. And please don’t respond with hospitals not being able to turn away people in the emergency room because we both know that it still happens and that ERs are not the most efficient ways of providing healthcare.
And if we are sticking with the model where you need to get your health insurance through an employer than it makes sense to me that the revenue for running the program is collected at the employer level.
