Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran Jr. is backing a bill requiring all Illinois drivers be licensed and insured including undocumented immigrants.
Curran joined with the Highway Safety Coalition Tuesday in a press conference Tuesday calling on the Illinois General Assembly to have courage and put highway safety first by passing legislation in veto session 2012 to require all Illinois drivers to be licensed and insured.
There are a lot of undocumented immigrants that need to get to work and by virtue of the way the system is set up, by having to have a social security number, are not eligible to get a drivers license, Curran said.

So send them to pack and then ship their keesters home.
With the exception of Twinkie bakers, I don't think there are that many jobs Americans won't do any more..
This sheriff is giving village idiots a bad name.
We stopped listening to Sean Hannity after he made his "evolved" announcement after the election.
I’m sure the more common this becomes, the less resistance to voter ID there will be. The enemy is not stupid.
Gezzzz
I doubt it... modern-day Americans will just look the other way and feel happy to have food on the table and beer in the fridge. Talk to people outside the conservative ranks and you'll find many simply don't give two sh*ts about who's inside our borders.
How do you document someone who is undocumented?
“Hi, My name is Carlos, I am here to apply for a drivers license”
“Do you have a birth certificate?”
“No”
“Do you have a social security card?”
“No”
“Do you have antyhing to prove who you say you are??”
“No”
“OK, Carlos - here’s your license”
— 10 minutes later —
(Same Guy) “Hi, My name is Jose, and I am here for a drivers licens...”

Thanks for the Bill Whittle video link. I’m going to start following more of his stuff.
Anyone gonna ask where the jurisdiction comes from llowing the government to reach illegal aliens? I mean, think about it - by definition, these people are not a part of our legal system. BY DEFINITION. so how are laws drafted that reach them concerning licensing or insurance?
Anyone even REMOTELY interested in this little, tiny, itsy-bitsy piece of arcane, utterly irrelevent and trivial legal minutiae that absolutely NO ONE from the MSM or government is discussing AT ALL?
Thought not.
After all, if it was important to the rest of us, we’d be told about it by the authorities.
Carry on.
Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran Jr are you saying that ILLEGALS are working while AMERICANS can't find jobs?? Where are they working, so we can BOYCOTT the employers!!
I guess they are working ILLEGALLY in the USA aand not Mexico, am I correct??
I live in that county, and I disagree with the sheriff. I think that the state legislature should pass a law that states that all illegal aliens, who want driver’s licenses, should go to the nearest DMV, on a certain day and time. At that time, ICE agents would surround the building. They’d arrest and handcuff the illegals and deport them, as quickly as possible.
Shame on Sheriff Curran. I always considered him to be a conservative. Ridiculous stuff like this from the county's top "law enforcement" officer have certainly given me pause if Curran ever seeks higher office. It's a milder version of a Connie Mack IV moment.

That's because they "need to get to work" in their country of origin, Sheriff! This may come as a shock to you, but the REASON why they're ineligible for a license is the American system of government is NOT "set up" to allow foreigners to work in another nation illegally. Shockingly, I would not have "access" to a Mexican drivers license, either, if I decided to make an "undocumented" visit to that country and take a job there. People are expected to go through legal channels to find work. Interesting concept, right?
Yesterday, I emailed Sheriff Curran, and I asked him to run for Congress, in the 10th Dist., in 2014. He said that he won’t run for Congress and that he might run, statewide. I think that he’ll run for attorney general, if AG Madigan doesn’t run for re-election.
