This whole issue could be resolved quickly if truckers and railroads ceased shipping to deep blue cities and counties. How long would the freeloaders last if they werent being fed by the rest of the country? This particular meme keeps resurfacing, and for the life of me, I don't see how it grabbed legs. You see these truck drivers aren't involved in some egalitarian endeavor transporting food from red areas to blue areas. No, they're working men who get paid by the mile, which they use to feed and clothe their families. The trucker is more concerned with how long he is going to last if he doesn't drive the miles than how long residents in blue states that he doesn't even know are going to last if he doesn't make the trip.
He also rightly presumes that the large corporate farms, which while only making up 2% of farms produce 2/3 of the goods, will find a way to get their products to their destinations. They're not about to commit corporate suicide to spite anyone in the blue states.

I remember the helo on "Riptide," she was called "The Screaming Mimi." It was an old Sikorsky S-55. IIRC, on one Airwolf episode, Dom had to fly an an old Sikorsky S-55 to Mexico and he finds a (then 1985) 12 year old Shannon Doherty who was a stowaway aboard.
Ah, things were saner then. B-((

Correction, the Screaming Mimi was an S-58 Sikorsky, but it seemed to be based on the S-55

Sir,
this subject thread, your response (the map) with the EBT overlay illustrating the EBT usage and the follow on responses are amazingly timely. Last week I received an email with a link to your paper titled When The Music Stops? How America's Cities May Explode In Violence.
http://westernrifleshooters.wordpress.com/2012/09/03/bracken-when-the-music-stops-how-americas-cities-may-explode-in-violence/ My background is something I would rather discuss in private but suffice to say I have forwarded this scenario to my circle of colleagues and friends who were quite interested in your thoughts and we continue to discuss this issue.
The actual trigger makes no difference, the following domino effect would be similar if the trigger is nation wide vs localized.
The further we proceed down this road of government dependence the more likely the scenario is.
I would be interested in continuing this discussion and would also encourage you to re-post the article in a separate thread to share with fellow freepers.
