They are recommending the party move in the direction of Democrats on issues such as [...] drug use The issue is not "drug use" but drug policy - keeping the drug alcohol legal is not an endorsement of alcohol use. The only demonstrable effect of anti-drug laws is to hyperinflate drug profits and channel those profits into criminal hands ... like Prohibition before it.
