No media is allowed inside the fenced complex, which houses operations for JCP&L’s army of workers from out of the area. The FEMA website indicated on Monday that there had been a shelter for first responders, utility and construction workers to take a break, although the compound now contains a full-time shelter operated by the state Department of Human Services.

The story at the link is outrageous. People are being denied the ability to report their plight to the outside world.
But this is NOT one of the legendary FEMA camps.

Remember this for the rest of your life: if you use a little canned condensed milk with some dry ranch mix and a little manteca/lard - these are shelf-stable - you can make mashed taters as good as with an electrified and stocked kitchen. Plenty of pepper, of course.
Sabol was told that she had half an hour to pack: everyone was getting shipped to hotels in Wildwood, New Jersey, where they would be able to re-acquaint themselves with showers, beds and a door.
The packed her up and sent her to the camp on Wednesday, I'm guessing they made sure she voted on Tuesday?

A few questions: What would you all do with all the displaced NY’ers flooding these places? How and what would you feed them? How would you keep security with the criminals among them? Are the limited options to available choice irksome to vocal NY’ers? Remember Katrina and the horror stories there? Was George Bush running death camps then?

I actually heard someone mention on the networks today how bad things are going in NYC. It was a sports announcer on the Cincy/Giants game talking about a player who had been through both Katrina and Sandy helping out in relief efforts. I doubt a alphabet newcaster would mention it, let alone pin the blame on Obama like they did Bush.
But what is happening in that camp - trying to prevent people from communicating with the outside world - needs to be escalated big-time.
But we need to have the facts straight in the process. This appears to be repression on a State of New Jersey level. Which makes it Christie's problem.

This is Chris Christie's problem from what I can see, and needs to be addressed as such.
I also don’t get the sort of people who have no problem building gallows that will also be used against them.
I’ve read a half dozen of these threads and I haven’t seen great evidence that the people are being held or denied their basic civil rights. AFAIK, they can leave. They are, by several accounts, being denied access to power for charging cell phones - boohoo. Generators are easily taxed and thoughtless people used to every convenience need to get real. Further, the complaints seem to be on the order of their menu complaint. What would people report if they were in any lockdown?

There was a place for the Katrina folks to go. FEMA bought entire apartment buildings in Houston. People all over the country were taking people into their homes. Churches all over the country were “adopting” families. I’m guessing none of that is happening today because the people, the churches and the government can’t afford it.
This story was NOT about those displaced NYers you seem to despise...it's about displaced New Jerseyites.
The problem here is that the camp operators are trying to prevent the problems in the camp from being reported to the outside world. That is wrong. And it appears to be the State of New Jersey doing it. Freedom of speech does include being able to use your cell phone. Lying about lack of power and unplugging charging phones is philosophically little different than the feds pulling the plug on FR.
I get it.
The Dems and the media convinced the public that they could afford to sleep through this I’ve election and so the public complied.
It will take a lot of hurting to teach the public this very important lesson of never sleeping and watching the watchers.
