Peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own

Here is how the document reads-

The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government's neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.

"I doubt there’s going to be any serious movement for Texas to secede, though."

If the country stays as it is, then yes, I agree with you. But let us absorb a few more body blows in the form of higher taxes, more layoffs, more business closings, rumblings of gun confiscation, obamacare complete with the Nazi-like IRS in charge of it, a decision to turn to a world currency when the dollar fails, regulation of the internet to shut down sites like this one, regulation of the airwaves to shut down conservative AM radio and FOX news, God forbid another big terrorist attack... all of which are possible if not probable.

A big irreversible reaction on our part can only be justified by a big enough push in the wrong direction. I understand that many people haven't seen yet what they feel warrants that kind of response. We'll have to see what happens and how soon, but in the mean time, I think these are discussions about "what if" that we need to be having.

If this were to happen, which it won't, what makes any of you clowns think that Texas would come out on top in another internecine bloodbath?

Real Conservatives will stay and fight, not run around screeching, "We're leaving, we're leaving!"

In the clearing stands a boxer
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of ev’ry glove that layed him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame
“I am leaving, I am leaving”
But the fighter still remains

In Texas v. White (1869), the Supreme Court held that a state has no right to leave the union.

Based on the above, West Virginia should remain a part of Virginia. The Constitution states in Article IV section 3 that “no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State” the existence of West Virginia is void because it was a state at the time West Virginia seceded. Therefore we only have 56 states instead of the 57 obama mentioned.

But then again the US Constitution doesn’t mean anything to the current administration.

Who’s talking about us leaving? If anyone has left, it is the USSA. We just don’t want this administration dragging us toward a future of communism and oppression.

And by the way, referring to people who love freedom and the American way as “clowns” reflects on your character, not ours.

Every American should have the right to vote for the independence of their state from this evil, communist, socialist regime ruled by this little marxist dictator called Obama. Georgia a soviet Republic and others got independence from the soviet union. Scotland soon will have this vote for independence from Britain

I don’t believe it will ever be successful, but it is fun to watch.

I get what you are saying about Austin. You are absolutely correct. If you compared every city council in the nation in terms of who’s more liberal, Austin has got to be in the single digit percentage.

Luckily, it is only a thumbprint of blue and the surrounding counties are full of conservative minded people. Even when you consider the other major cities whose thumbprints are also blue and the blue border counties, you still have a red state over all.

Texas has plenty of hard working, self reliant people who’d step forward to defend what’s theirs.
