I am not clear to what 1.6 million acres of land in the west this author is referring to?
The area of land in question is in the northeast corner of Utah around the Vernal area, the northwest corner of Colorado and the southern part of Wyoming above these two other areas. A friend of mine who’s husband and son drove across the country last year said that this area reminded them of Mars when they looked out the window. It has it’s own beauty but redefines the notion of “the middle of no where”.
