Yes, Obama won by a smaller margin than he did in '08. We all know that. The thing is, it was understandable for America to vote for Obama in '08. The wars were unpopular, the economy was in shambles, McCain was a terrible candidate, and Obama was a blank slate and offered something fresh.
It is not understandable for America to re-elect Obama given what we know now.

I guess the “drive by voters” did their “patriotic duty” by voting for Obama. Drive by voters don’t have to read newspapers, read the internet, watch Fox News, listen to talk radio, watch the Sunday talk shows or watch c-span. All they have to do is watch the Kardashians, Snooki, American Idol and maybe watch a couple of episodes of John Stewart if their feeling really wonkish. Then when it is time to vote and make their contribution, they can go out to the polls and vote for the pop star president.
