(snip) To repeat a point I made in the Matthews thread, if not for the photo op with Christie and the corrupt medias breathless coverage of it, O would have been nearly invisible during Sandy. I thought hed get no meaningful political benefit whatsoever from looking presidential for a day or two afterward, but to my amazement the exit poll suggests otherwise and it may very well not have happened if not for Christie turning it into a story. I dont know if he really was just too tired and stressed to consider the political implications or if he was working an angle designed to boost his Democratic cred before running again for governor in New Jersey, but I think Dan McLaughlins right about his national ambitions now. Christie was always going to have a tough time in the primaries due to some of his departures from conservative orthodoxy and, now, because hes a northeastern blue-state governor and weve been there, done that, nominee-wise, its even tougher for him. When you pile this on top of it, though? I suppose if Romney can overcome RomneyCare and McCain can overcome campaign finance reform, among other things, Christie can overcome a storm-related misjudgment. But listen to the Ingraham clip below (via the Daily Caller) when youre done with the first one. Sound like a nominee in the making?

democrats all over the nation were thanking Christie before the election for pulling off a win for Obama
Christie can be kingmaker in NE blue states, if he wants to. But after his stunt, he will have zero chance on the national stage.
Why doesn’t this idiot just close his mouth. His blathering just looks foolish. Once people on the right make up their minds about someone’s behavior, they usually will not change it because someone lashes out at them. He’s not going to get back the love and good will he once had. He’s making it worse.
I generally like Christie, but he gave the Democrats the exact photo ops and quotes he needed to ensure victory. A week out from the election, he contradicted the Romney core message that Obama could not work with the other side. This statement is absolute fact, as there is not a single example of him in four years cooperating on policy. No one. Romney’s angle, was Obama’s policies are bad and he is causing gridlock. That message was nowhere reflected in the vote.
Sure, and you wouldn’t say you eat too much...
Yeah, we were all watching Romney try and diffuse a ticking time bomb. We were in the final seconds. Everything was going smooth but the pressure was definitely mounting. Romney was making his final moves... and Chirstie lumbers into the room and bellows, "I just talked to Bruce Springsteen on the phone!!! Obama is SO COOL!!" And then the bomb blew up in our face. But its no biggie. Maybe we can still save America in 2016. Who knows? The important thing is we got hear all about Christie sobbing on the phone with Bruce and taking long walks with Obama on the beach.
The problem for Fatso is that undecided voters saw it as an embrace of Obama and then voted accordingly.
Enter Iago.
It was perfectly fine for Chris Christie to join with Obama in the wake of the crisis. But to lather the president with praise, calling his response to Sandy outstanding in the immediate aftermath of the storm was completely unjustified.
It was another act of treachery. (As the disaster unfolded, and with hundreds of thousands still without electric power as I write this, there is plenty of evidence that the leadership by Obama and federal agencies has been seriously lacking, as it has been from Christie and other state and local officials who have failed to adequately prepare and respond to the disaster.)

bump
I am still wondering if Christie did this on purpose, if none of the other governors in NY, CT and Nanny Bloomberg (all democrats) didn’t want the president, why would he ?
May as well poke him with a fork - his political future is “done”.
Shut up fat boy. YOU ARE SO DONE and you don’t even know it.
Christie is too much of a big mouth blubba butt to see how he was played. I am sure he noticed how other GOP Governors in other states were told to go pound sand when they had a disaster on their hands.
Christie was so unprepared for this disaster that he needed the closest security blanket he could find. LOL
Bloomie and thr RAT Governors knew they would get the help and they also knew that the Obama photo op would not have the political impact that a Christie/Obama slobberfest would have.
Christie fell for that empty chair in a heartbeat. Christie gave praise to an Obama, who had done nothing but board a helicopter, that will probably now tell him to go pound sand also now that he is no longer needed.
ugh, I am still seeing that visual of him standing there all tired, chubby, and bedraggled, behind a refreshed Obama.
What would you call it then, foreplay? Hell, you sure screwed the nation over with it!!
That's because you're a fat, self-serving, New Jersey dumba$$...
Someone push this whale back into the ocean.
Christie’s career is over. Good riddance.
I love the smell of flop sweat and fat in the morning. It smells like Christie.
