And yet, just 2 years ago, there were enough conservative votes to decisively take the House (with enough of a margin to retain it after this fiasco) and make a legitimate run at taking the Senate (which would have required a staggering +11 margin).
Today sucks. I get that.
But 2 years in politics is a long time. You fight one election at a time.
Romney lost light night because he failed to do as well as McCain -- let that sink in. Obama shed over 10% of his own 2008 total, so Romney would have won if he had merely retained all of the McCain votes. The people who stayed home -- rather than vote for someone who could pass for a mainstream Democrat less than 30 years ago -- were the margin of defeat, not some insurmountable horde of freeloaders.
In two years, MANY illegal immigrants will be added to the total voter rolls. In two years many criminals will be added to the total voter rolls. In two years, new federal judge appointments will be pro-leftist! In two years, Islam will rule the U.S. In two years, Free Republic may not exist!... You have no idea how bad it’s, really, going to get for everybody, very soon.
