Romney was a poor candidate and ran an inadequate campaign but probably would have been a good President.
The Repubilcan and Tea Parties make a mistake by allowing themselves to be spread over too many issues. Stay away from social issues and stick to economic and defense issues.
Every family has a gay relative and every family has a relative that has had or should have had an abortion. These are very personal issues and should be left to the individuals.
Focus on fiscal resposibility, energy independence and strong defense.

Yep the GOP looks like the democratic party years ago when they were focusing on Gay, Abortion, etc.
The Tea Party is the best thing for the Dems - extreme right wingers who won’t vote Republican. We will end up like Canada, where the Liberal parties rules and the conservatives are splintered.

Romney did exactly what you suggest here: He stayed away from social issues entirely, and even said he didn’t plan to do anything about abortion or fags in the military. Women voted for the guy who WOULD do something about abortion: Namely, pay for their free abortions out of his personal stash.
When conservative evangelicals stay home, the GOP loses. Period. This time the establishment gave us someone whose religious beliefs the evangelical world finds reprehensible, and who supported baby-killing his whole life until the last two years. Enough evangelicals stayed home to give states like FL and VA to the One, and to only give NC (birthplace of Billy Graham) to Mittens by a slim margin.
