I visited the post office after voting this morning. I asked the clerk at the counter if he had already voted. He told me that he had and that the lines were long. Then he said that he voted for Obama because Romney will shut down his post office if he gets elected! The height of Obama's false propaganda seems to have no limit.
“Post Office clerk: “I voted for Obama because Romney will shut down my post office.”
What he doesn’t realize is that his local office is probably going to be shut down anyway, regardless of who is elected.
I have a friend who is a letter carrier and he feels exactly the same way as the person described in this article.
In my opinion (and I will probably get bombed for this), the post office is probably pretty near as efficient as it can be - and it carries the burden of those pension/care payments that no other business has. Ben Franklin recognized that the efficent and UNIVERSAL flow of communication and goods were good for the country. A good (but as efficient as possible) post office is a national resource same as the interstates, waterways, and so on.
A small subsidy to the post office is a drop in the bucket in return for the efficient flow of goods and information to EVERY address in the US.
Without the post office, watch what happens to UPS/FedEx rates.
And nearly every conversation lately with (the mostly slow) postal workers behind the counter involves how "unjust" it is that their benefits are being cut, and how they're counting down to the day when they can retire *early* and collect their government pensions.
Cry me a freakin' river. Try existing in the private sector these days...
With the Saturday mail delivery coming to an end (except packages and mail to PO boxes) later this year, many postal workers will lose jobs or have hours cut. And this is happening under Obama.
Yup, that's right. LOTS of people are losing their jobs under Obama, and will continue to do so.
Still, on a daily basis, I talk to people (admittedly mostly here in The People's Socialist Republik of Connecticut) who absolutely don't make the connection between Obama's and the democRATs' policies and the bad economy, higher gas and grocery prices, and job loss.
Why the heck the Republicans *and* Conservatives aren't speaking out about this every day is a huge mystery to me...
> ...who absolutely don’t make the connection between Obama’s and the democRATs’
> policies and the bad economy, higher gas and grocery prices...
During one of the presidential debates Obama claimed that high gas prices are the sign of a good economy. Many zero information voters believe that absurdity and are presumably happy living under such conditions. What a sad situation!
Thanks for that reminder... I remember that now, lol.
Incredible, huh? I wonder how many Obama sheeple will still be "happy" living under even worse economic conditions at the end of 2016?
2014 is gonna be interesting when ObamaCare starts going into full effect. God help us all...
