Vanity: The Final Week
Nov. 5, 2012 | Self

Posted on 11/05/2012 7:20:18 AM PST by StAnDeliver

If it isn't patently obvious what has happened this past week, let me explain.

Ever since Romney won the GOP nom, the MSM has decided to set the bar higher than ever before -- higher than even for McCain -- half because they don't believe it's 'fair' to deprive Obama of a 2nd term despite having f'd up the economy royally, and the other half because they believe they are truly in an open war with the rest of US, the Heartland. Or to paraphrase that dead Leftist goon Andy Rooney: 'Half of the MSM love Obama, and the other half hate Romney.'

"The media, I think, wants Kerry to win. And I think they're going to portray Kerry and Edwards ...as being young and dynamic and optimistic and all, there's going to be this glow about them that some, is going to be worth, collectively, the two of them, that's going to be worth maybe 15 points." — Newsweek's Evan Thomas on Inside Washington, July 10, 2004.

A week ago*, Obama was losing -- badly. And they realized it was because Romney was scoring points every single time he had any kind of free media. So even before Sandy, they switched the mode of reporting to polling, so that any lead Romney had was 'tenuous', and put poll porner MasterNate -- a Kos Kid baseball fantasy leaguer -- front & center with his '75%' non-nuanced nonsense. Why? Well, it's like any simpleton figure, it's easy to remember and offers an aura of invincibility, which they hoped would lead Donkettes back to the barn. Add in Sandy and it may have worked to some degree, along with the thoroughly planned drop in gas prices. The thing is, it would have happened all along. Incumbents of any office usually gather some late stragglers. The 80/20 Incumbent Rule is not an evenly distributed pattern.

So here's the key -- to make MasterNate's fantasy infield double come true, they need D+4. Minimum D+4.

And ... it's not there. The rest of the internals -- Independents, motivation, almost all early voting -- it. does. not. exist. They had to have this election sewed up going in -- and thusly why you see the MSM generate the same fake meme -- because otherwise they are going to be destroyed by Election Day turnout. Anything less than D+4 assures a Romney victory, be it close (Moroning Joe, Nat. Review) or landslide (Barone, Will, Rove, Morris).

Postscript: There's also another reason why the MSM is constructing this meme -- it offers the opportunity to Blame Whitey for Obama's loss. By falsely building in a 4% Undecided, on Wednesday they will be able to project any meme onto that number. You won't hear a word about the NYT (no less!) article last November about how "preparations by Democratic operatives for the 2012 election make it clear for the first time that the party will explicitly abandon the white working class." You'll never hear that Donkettes didn't come home to the Obamabarn, or that the Jewish vote abandoned him in Florida, or Iowa evangelicals were simply tired of his secular bias, or recent Wisconsin graduates resented the hopelessness of the job market, or that Green Line matrons turned against him outside Philly, or Denver soccer moms registered a protest vote, or Hispanics showed little interest in him period.

My prediction: I've thought Obama was unelectable going back to September 2011. My tagline has been consistent since mid-October: 2008 + IN, NE1, NC, FL, VA, OH, CO, IA, NH = 285EV . The reason is, this is where the campaign focused. Now that they have expanded the map, I still believe these are the safe states, particularly as I have elaborated about the established trend of Ohio GOP vote = or > National GOP PV.

The tipping point for WI & PA will be whether or not NH and VA are +3 blowouts for Romney. If both are, then the sky is the limit.

KEYWORDS: election; msm; obama; romney
*Note what happened right before the past week in question -- Halperin et al pronounced "This is now a GOTV election." And they were right. Then the journolists said to hell with that (btw, the #journolist is alive and well and operating in the open on Twitter).

MSM is going to push this coverage into the wee hours, as well, citing “too close to call”. They’ll not willingly relinquish their grip on the Kenyan.

Wonder if Fox will do the same.

just be ready for the standard msm reporting...

as soon as the polls close, with less than 1% reporting, they will start calling every state for fubo..

they will then be shocked, i mean SHOCKED, everytime rino romney wins a state...
