Bloomberg, like most petty tyrants, looks quite annoyed at being questioned.
He just doesn’t give a crap. The two massive generators are still sitting in Central Park. Hasn’t said anything about Staten Island or Long Island. It’s as if areas other than NYC don’t exist. Just MHO.
He brushed aside the reporter, said “Talk to the press guy.”
As if he was soooo busy at that moment, he couldn’t be bothered.
Unreal.
Blooming ping of an unhappy Burg.
He should hire Nagin as a consultant. /S
When will the reports claiming that they need ten thousand bodybags and that cannibalism is happening?
More voters for Romney and the GOP being created by the hour.
This is making me like New Yorkers.
I can’t wait to see Obama’s Ceaucesceau moment.
Thank god he wasn’t mayor during 9/11. Not that this isn’t worse overall to the NYC area residents. Bloomberg is totally lost and doesn’t have a clue.
Petty tyrants like Bloomberg don’t care about the little people....
How the people of New York put this putz in power for three terms is unreal...
They got the government they voted for....God help them...
I’m always amazed at the angry sense of entitlement here in America.
They DEMAND charity. They don’t ask for it and thank you for it when it arrives.
(”Why has it taken so LONG for you to be charitable, you useless POS?”)
Only in America. Did you see anyone like this in Japan after a 100X more severe Tsunami? Anyone??? No.
If every able-bodied adult in that group took it upon themselves to do something instead of complaining about their circumstances, things would be much better in these areas right now.
As someone else pointed out on another thread ... this is what happens when you have millions of people raised with the expectation that their government is going to do everything for them.
Bloomberg has created this “dependency” monster himself, and now it is coming back to bite him. He has told New Yorkers they are not even capable of picking out the correct size soft drink, so what does he expect now?
Mel Brooks as Mayor Bloomberg:

The people should be thankful they are safe from 32 oz. Big Gulps.
Although were expecting a large surge of water, it is not expected to be a tropical storm or hurricane-type surge. With this storm, well likely see a slow pileup of water rather than a sudden surge, which is what you would expect with a hurricane, and which we saw with Irene 14 months ago. So it will be less dangerous but make no mistake about it, there will be a lot of water and low-lying areas will experience flooding.
"President Obama asked Craig Fugate from FEMA to call me earlier in the day and offer any help. I assured him that we had, we think, everything under control but we appreciate the effort. What FEMA really can do is to help those parts of the country that dont have all of the extensive facilities and agencies and practice that New York City does. But I did want to thank them for their offer."
So if things are the way its planned and if everybody does what theyre supposed to do, we will get through this very nicely and look back on it and say maybe we can offer some help to other parts of the area upstate or below us, south of us, which might get hit a lot harder. The trajectory says that the storm will hit a little bit south of us, the Maryland/Delaware area. Nobodys exactly sure where landfall is going to be, but we are working to ensure that no matter how or when the storm arrives the City will be well prepared and our residents safe.
It’s a good thing these people have not been informed that Bloomberg has a sofa in his penthouse worth over a million dollars. That’s right a couch worth over a million!
They are mostly worried about food. This scene is in every catastrophe movie imaginable. Stock pile. Buy weapons. Take care of your own and your neighbor if possible. The door has to close and you can’t help everyone.
Only NYCers.
Please to distinguish between them and the rest of us NY staters in the future.
