BTW: I built mine up using a near flawless StG58 kit on a DSA receiver. Had it re-Parkerized in that dull gray finish. The free world’s right arm.
Sounds like a beauty. Mine’s a parts bin special but it shoots as well as any one I’ve seen.
That's a rare case of us reaping a Cold War benefit. We kept the peace after WWII, so the Austrians did nothing but keep those rifles oiled 'til they chopped them and sold us the parts. The South African FALs were not so fortunate (but lots of 'em live again, thanks to WECSOG).
