FYI, Catherine Herridge is the reporter who has been busting this whole story wide-open from the beginning. So far, she has the best inside sources actually willing to talk. She’s the one who first reported that the admin 3 times denied a rescue team for the ambassador…
Excerpted from Catherine Herridge’s report today in Fox News: Two days after the deadly Libya terror attack, representatives of the FBI and National Counterterrorism Center gave Capitol Hill briefings in which they said the evidence supported an Al Qaeda or Al Qaeda-affiliated attack, Fox News has learned.
The description of the attack by those in the Sept. 13 briefings stands in stark contrast to the now controversial briefing on Capitol Hill by CIA Director David Petraeus the following day — and raises even more questions about why Petraeus described the attack as tied to a demonstration.
Fox News is told that Petraeus seemed wedded to the narrative that the attack was linked to a demonstration and was spontaneous as opposed to pre-meditated.
Fox News is told that Petraeus was “absolute” in his description with few, if any, caveats. As lawmakers learned more about the attack, including through raw intelligence reports, they were “angry, disappointed and frustrated” that the CIA director had not provided a more complete picture of the available intelligence.

I’ll give Petraeus the benefit of the doubt for now, because he is a hero for his job in Iraq.

I agree with all who have used the term disappointing. This is an absolute shot to the gut. When I saw the general was standing by the video-protest scenario, I was speechless. None of it made any sense. I always feel when someone acts in an unexplainable way, there is some sort of blackmail involved. The Chicago Way is to know all things at all points in time. Well, come what may to whomever. This isn’t going away.
CIA Director + CIA assets and Operatives = Petraeus knew and probably devised the gun running scheme (or worse).
I’d say that it is fairly easy to determine that General Petraeus was certainly involved with what happened as well as the cover up.
The simple fact that he has not resigned in order to preserve his honor indicates that he has none.
If I was an employee of this administration, I would not stand for this treasonous crap for one second.

While the Committee leaks came from a Democrat Congressman from MD and are therefore certainly suspect, GOP Congressmen have had more than a month to come forward and say "Wait, that's not what the DCI said." To date they have not come forward. Friday is the first time Patraeus has broken his silence since mid-September.
I think even a very charitable person has to assume he was part of the initial cover-up.

He is a PhD in international relations.
So of course, he fully supports the evil rules of engagement in Afghanistan. His rules have denied grunts in Afghanistan artillery or close air support.
Men have died, screaming for support and had it denied.
Men have died, inside their own compounds where they were not allowed to carry rifles, gunned down by the Muslims hired to guard them.
In Iraq, he is a supporter of FBI showing up and conducting interviews after firefights and prosecuting soldiers and marines.
Petraeus was fine with making grunts in a combat zone have a day of indoctrination about how to be nice to homos.

He is no stranger to refusing fire support for political reasons, so Libya was nothing new to him. No need to admire Petraeus as far as im concerned. He’s just another McCrystol or Wesley Clark, or Dempsey. A turd to be flushed.
Schwartzkopf was our last real General. We may never have another that isn’t a marathon running, laptop carrying, tee-totaling, homo supporting abstainer from manhood, pussy that is indistinguishable from the average corporate evecutive at GE or GS.

Either way...all we have is vapid speculation.
We should focus of what we can establish with some degree of certainty. What is going on with Petraeus is beyond our understanding at this point.

I think it’s more likely that he thinks things were done right. It fits with everything he’s done. But lets say they have something on him and are threatening him. The Bible says “the truth will set you free”.
So he stands up, and says, “here is the bad thing i did. I did it, and am guilty. But now the administration wants me to lie. I was threatened by david axelrod that if i didnt do “X”, they would expose me.”
We can’t ask him to risk that, but he can ask better men than him to risk and lose THEIR lives? He’s a conspirator or a coward. There is no other option.

I will give Petraus the benefit of the doubt. I cannot imagine a man of his background and character doing anything that is not in the interest of the personnel under his command. Will wait for confirmation/updates.
