Funny thing is, a lot of non-Catholics think we Catholics hear nothing from the pulpit but "no to contraception, forincation, and gay sex" all the time. In fact, most of us have eard nothing about it for decades, except -- abortion, yes, I have heard preaching about that, n response to incessant nudging from our (lay-lead) Respect Life committees.

So I was supriised and pleased that one of our deacons gave 2 homilies in 2 weeks (covering at least 5 Masses) clearly and specifically referencing contraception, divorce/remarriage and gay marriage as being opposed to Divine and Natural Law, and warning about attacks on our religious liberty.

I sent him fan-emails, asked if he would send me the text, and then sent the texts out to my whole Catholic e-mail list.

Things do seem to be turning around. Fast enough? Strong enough? We shall see.

“Things do seem to be turning around”

I think it will be enough to make a big difference in the final outcome in Nov. If this is going to be a close race, then a small movement by Catholics can have a big impact in swing states.
