From experience - TSA are the most under-trained - unskilled - and have no place doing the job for which they are hired for. I remember in Reagan International - there was a TSA female who had such long finger nails she had to slide my ticket off the counter just to pinch it to look at it with my ID...she was sitting to - not standing...these TSA personnel are not professional looking - and do not act in any professional manner — they are the least qualified people to do this job...

I recommend US Military Police personnel from all branches perform this job - armed and uniformed for instance recognized presence and the professionalism will follow! Plus having K9 patrols throughout the airports sniffing bags as people wait...it’s just how its done — and until a certain religious culture is no longer able to frequent such ports of entry - this should be the rule!

I respectfully disagree, service members are for one thing, any thing beyond their primary directive (Support & defend the Constitution) is a slap in the face. They are for one reason and one reason only, to that end this abomination that is this POS president and cowardly Congress have earned a trial and committed to the fullest extent of the law for treason.

The TSA, well I am sure that there are jobs for criminals that are befitting their crimes.

My daughter, who has both education and work experience in law enforcement, as well as a minor in Chinese language, and is an expert martial artist, interviewed to be a TSA agent.

The tatooed, mini-skirted, pierced girl that interviewed her told her she didn’t the right qualifications for the job.

No one signed on to join the army to be an MP so they can be a security guard at an airport.

Return the security of the airports to the airports. DO away with the TSA and THEIR UNION. The airports will run it in a professional manner and be able to fire the idiots that the union protects.

I recommend US Military Police personnel from all branches perform this job - armed and uniformed for instance recognized presence and the professionalism will follow!

I just finished reading a story about a woman, dying from lukemia, taking her last trip to hawaii, in a wheelchair with feeding and other tubes in her body...

The tsa bastards asked her to lift up her shirt to examine her TUBES... she asked for a private room and was REFUSED!!

she had to lift up her shirt, and pull off the bandages so the nazi’s could see where her tubes went in...

Then, they took one of her bags of saline solution and CUT IT OPEN!!!!

the tsa nazi’s denied any wrongdoing, and insisted that they would have done a private search if she asked...

what a load of pure evil crap..

unionized thugs that cannot be disciplined or fired, along with incompetent inept so called leadership..

Fire everyone above line worker, and replace them with people that have IQ’s that actually reach the double digits, then start firing the line workers for ANY strong arm tactic they try to use..

government workers, no accountablity, no intellegence, and a belligerent attitude that comes from entitlement..

To qualify my first post.

Considering I am a MP CPT - with multiple tours in OIF - both as a commander and anti-terrorism officer - my suggestion stands. Unlike the other posters, I have years worth of experience - and this very discussion has been brought to the table multiple times - and there are soldiers willing to do this temporary type of work to stay within their home area.

First, MP’s in both the National Guard and Reserve system could provide security to ports of entry, just not airports, until a more effective system is established that do not require unions - and with that - such service, those military members, both MP’s and Infantry backgrounds would do a better job while earning 4 or 6 month Active Duty shorts tours to their existing retirement. The shifts would be 5 days - with 2 off - and allow those military members time to go back home - since they would be within their NG/Reserve AO.

Second, I agree totally that the TSA should be removed permanently. They are the worst type of security I’ve ever seen. By having military MP’s/Infantry member on post - this would stop the double pay for two security entities that now exist. One, the military and two, the TSA. If there was any type of corruption, then the military member would fall under UCMJ - so much better than some govt. union jack that protects TSA officers from abusing travelers!

The final point to save money, is that by using military members instead of TSA types, it will save travelers money on airline tickets. If each airport had to provide security - a national standard would still be applied. Salary and benefits would have to be provided, hiring criteria that would capture those most talented and experienced to do this type of work, and all of it would be passed over to the air carriers - which means higher ticket prices. With private security at airports - that is funded by the airport - the prices would be so high - few would travel despite the pleasant atmosphere provided by this new “private” non-union security - that the already hurting airlines would be far and few.

I know for a FACT there are MP’s and other MOS’s that would jump at a change to serve 4 or 6 month tours within their regional areas while earning retirement points and active duty time...and to suggest otherwise - makes one uninformed and unrelated to the issues pertaining to the military members seeking such opportunities. Sounds like the ones countering me are afraid of Posse Comitatus style of security...

Summary of my points (1) Experience professionals vs non-experienced (2) Military Code of Justice vs Unions and (3) Save travelers and taxpayers money.
