I personally hope the strike goes on a good long time and gets lots of press. Nothing better to keep reminding our fellow Michiganders.

Teacher strikes are illegal in Michigan, but they have happened in the past, most recently when Detroit Public Schools teachers walked out on students in 2006.

In protest over a Philanthropist who was going to give the city 100 million to open up charter schools. He took the offer off the table after they left and protested in Lansing. It was a turning point for a teacher I know, she left the Detroit system and became a right wing lunatic like us, and she is Jewish to boot.
