I have half a hunch that the rumor based upon no evidence whatsoever about Betty White addressing the Dim coven convention is just that, a rumor possibly started as a joke or as a plant by a Pubbie after the Eastwood appearance....and now it has taken on a life of its own.

I doubt that Miss White had or has the slightest intention of speechifying at the convention....and liberal or not, she probably wishes the whole thing would go away....except her agent probably relishes the publicity.

By the way, Betty White was born Jan. 17, 1922, making her 90 years old.

I really can't see her making the arduous trip across the breadth of this country for a few-minutes gig at the Carolina convention.

She may be active for her age in the familiar and controlled surroundings of her TV studio, but travelling to the beehive of a convention setting would not be the easiest or safest idea for a nonegenarian.
