I hope and pray these polls are truly indicative of a shift of black votes from Obama. But, I have very serious doubts.
I believe that the vast — VAST — majority of blacks will follow Lovie Smith’s injunction to his fellow blacks: “Remember, you got to vote for Obama because he’s an African American.”
Of course, had John Harbaugh or Rex Ryan said that whites should vote for Romney because he’s white, they would have been fired within minutes for racism. As Smith should have been.
Obama will carry 96% of the black vote. All we can hope for is a lack of enthusiasm on their part resulting in a low turnout.
I am not so sure. I know some conservative black people that I am sure voted for Obama because he was "historic". I do not think they will vote for him this time.
Lovie Smith will be fired the day the Bears organization thinks he won’t deliver a Super Bowl, and not before.
BEAR DOWN!
Your comment makes a good point. Yet, after listening to Artur Davis Tuesday night, I am beginning to think, as well as hope, that many of those who--like Davis--supported Obama because he was "one of them" are now realizing that the "halo" the LSM was so wont to put around Obama's head has slipped so far down that it has become nothing more than "shackle"!
Davis spoke--eloquently and passionately--to this issue; I really do hope and pray Davis' message has not fallen on as many deaf ears as the Vice-Panderer and his arrogant ilk hope--if not pray--it has.
That may be true, but it's not just black voters that Obama needs to keep. He may lose 10% of the black vote, which may not, by itself, be significant. But if Obama loses those, in addition to the votes of those white independents who felt that 'white guilt' last time, but have soured on him in the past couple of years, he's toast.
