If I was in charge of security, they wouldn’t get within 5 miles of the place. Screw the lawsuits and press.
The police / National Guard / FBI / Secret Service presence is so overwhelming in Tampa right now. At lunch today, I walked all over downtown Tampa looking for protesters. Every street corner has at least 3 cops. I probably saw 1000 LEOs and only a hand full of scruffy looking people who might have been protesters.
There have been very few arrests so far. Yesterday afternoon, some dude decided to lay down in the middle of Kennedy Blvd. A cop sat down on the road next to him and told him that Kennedy was a major road used my EMS to get to the hospital. The protester dude decided to leave peacefully and he wasn’t arrested. The situation was defused nicely.
I expect things to heat up the next two days and nights, but I’m sure they can handle it. An entire jail was emptied just to make room for arrested protesters. Hopefully these bozos will see the light and take their BS to Charlotte.
