As the election draws nearer and it becomes increasingly clear that Hisself will lose, I think the question becomes, “How can He justify postponing or indefinitely suspending the election?”

Wars, revolutions, civil unrest excuses come to mind as justification for martial law, but how will he foment such troubles by November? Perhaps a currency crash which upturns the welfare state overnight could be his casus belli on the American people.

He won’t. As bad as things are, or have been in the past, the elections have continued. You think Obama is abusing the powers of his office? He’s a lightweight compared to Wilson, he had the power to do things that Obama would only dream of, and he used it. And even he couldn’t impede the 1916 or 1918 elections.
