Unless they really are panicking. We already know they are incompetent!
It just occurred to me that Romney said I made the VP pick on August 1st, two weeks ago. Given the opposition intel available to Barry, it may have been the selection of Ryan that prompted the offer to Hillary, knowing that Ryan could wipe the floor with Biden.
In terms of how it comes across on TV, I disagree that Ryan will wipe the floor with Biden. Biden is very, very slick. He makes stuff up with even missing a beat, and it’s impossible — as Gingrich found with Romney — to deal with someone who flat out lies in the middle of a debate.
In Biden’s case, he’s so slick that no one can call him on it.
Remember the foreign policy piece of his debate with Palin when the came out with the “fact” that we’d spent more in 3 weeks on Iraq than we had in all of the Aghan conflict up to that point. That was so wrong, but people don’t have those numbers at their fingertips, and the MEDIA would never call him on it.
So, this Biden/Ryan debate will not be a cakewalk.
And you can bet that the liberal moderators will slant every question toward foreign policy and away from budget, jobs, economy, etc. They’ll avoid Ryan’s strengths.
