It’s ridiculous, really. Politics and personal morality are separate, and you put both at risk by mixing them as they do.
According to the folks to which you refer, a Theocracy would be the ultimate ideal.
Politics is ultimately about an ugly winding path of compromise and deal-making until you achieve as much of your ultimate goal as is possible.
Morality either is or isn’t.
The policy of this site is now to mix politics and morality for no other apparent reason than because Romney is Mormon, and some folks just can’t stand Mormons for their own reasons that make no sense from the political goal that should be paramount.
