“Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel came out in support of Moreno shortly after the announcement, but has since backpedaled after critics called the ban a violation of the restaurant’s First Amendment rights.”

Heh, I do so love seeing politicians scuttle for cover once the spotlight gets put on them.

They’re an awful lot like cockroaches in that respect, I’ve noticed.

If they keep this up, the handful might eventually grow to a fistful, and that will distract them enough to make them forget all about it.

And then one of the GLN members asked him, “…Who’s Anita Bryant?”

I wasn’t aware that queer marriage was legal in Chicago. So “Chicago values” don’t include queer marriage.

Anita Bryant was correct in all of her statements regarding homosexual activists.

“As our movement against Anita Bryant showed a generation ago, even very entrenched bigots can be defeated by smart and effective use of boycotts, demonstrations and other direct mobilizations of LGBTI’s and our allies,” said Andy Thayer of the Gay Liberation, the group which initiated next Wednesday’s protest, in a media release Friday.

They defeated Anita Bryant? In their dreams.

I wonder how many protesters they'll get this time. 11 instead of 10?

Members of the Gay Liberation Network, a local direct-action LGBT rights group, and other LGBT activists have called for a third protest outside of the River North Chick-fil-A — this time on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 4:30 p.m.

Because the first one worked oh, so well!!!

Epic Fail Redux!

The Chick-A-Fil Appreciation Day might have had a stellar turnout, but it will only happen once. In contrast, these LBGT groups are relentless and NEVER give up. Now that Chick-A-Fil is in their cross hairs, look for this to continue for year.

Wow, the last LGBT protest worked so good, let’s do it again. (The last protest caused a counter protest that ran the company out of chicken. If the LGBT does this often enough, there may not be enough chickens left to reproduce.)

And when that falls flat on it's face, they'll go all NAZI on it.

I guess they think "the third time is the charm", but having it at the hottest part of the day will sure enhance the turnout. /sarc

I wonder how long the bun burglars would continue to show up if every one of their whine-fests was outnumbered ten to one by CFA supporters. Even people whose brains have been rotted by years of liberalism and syphillis (but I repeat myself) might understand how counterproductive their actions are.

I'm OK with having CFA every Wed, bring it on, queers.

My support of CFA shows in my truck rear window, an 8 1/2 x 11 graphic in support. I usually get favorable comments, though I expect one day to find my window bashed in when I return to the parking lot.

Chick-fil-A protests return — with a new leader and a new argument

August 07, 2012

If you think the Chick-fil-A protests are finished here, think again.

Gay rights advocates are getting some heavy reinforcements in the form of Andy Thayer, arguably the top local leader of the May anti-NATO protests here. And Mr. Thayer has found an interesting new twist that might allow his side to go on the offensive.

Mr. Thayer is pointing to a 2007 article in Forbes that suggests the firm and its founder and CEO, Truett Cathy, have done more than oppose same-sex marriage.

To quote from the article, “Loyalty to the company isn’t the only thing that matters to Cathy, who wants married workers, believing they are more industrious and productive.” The article adds that Mr. Cathy “says he would probably fire an employee or terminate an operator who ‘has been sinful or done something harmful to their family members.’ “

There’s more: “The parent company asks people who apply for an operator license to disclose marital status, number of dependents and involvement in ‘community, civic, social, church and/or professional organizations.’ “
