Law Enforcement Responds, Nanny Bloomberg Walks Back ‘Police Strike’ Comment

A law enforcement professional responds to Bloomie’s stupid observation that police should go on strike until gun laws are changed.

Rebuttal To Mayor Bloomberg

…On the Piers Morgan Tonight show, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg suggested that police officers across America go on strike and refuse to protect people until more gun control laws are enacted.

The first time I read that my brain skipped a moment, I blinked and then I went back and read it again. NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg suggested that police officers across America go on strike and refuse to protect people until more gun control laws are enacted. Um, HUH?! [...]

Mayor Bloomberg’s statement was: I don’t understand why the police officers across this country don’t stand up collectively and say we’re gonna go on strike, we’re not gonna protect you unless you, the public, through your legislature, do what’s required to keep us safe.

Well, Mayor Bloomberg, let me give you a few reasons why, and in the process hopefully explain how your suggestion is not only stupid, but it’s insulting, AND it marks you as a politician who doesn’t care in the least about his constituency.

First, we law enforcement professionals take an oath. That oath includes promising to fairly and impartially enforce the laws of our city, county and state. That oath includes obeying and/or protecting the Constitution of the United States (which contains that thing called the 2nd Amendment if you remember correctly). That oath usually says something about protecting the citizens of the community we serve. That oath isn’t just a collection of words mashed together that we say so we can start collecting a paycheck. That oath has a deeper meaning: it comes from our heart. We speak it with our right hand in the air and (often) our left hand on The Bible…

UPDATE from Tammy: The hypocrite is now walking back his remarks saying he didn’t mean the cops should literally go on strike.

Bloomberg meant it when he said it. He’s only recanting because his honest thoughts betrayed him as the rat b@stard he really is.

Bloomberg has been called out on what may be an illegal call to action.— a mayor advocating a police strike.

Of all the political figures in America, only the audacity of Barack Hussein Obama exceeds that of Michael Bloomberg.

To suggest that police officers should “go on strike” in protest of the use of privately held sidearms being used by citizens in response to assaults with intent to harm being made upon said citizens, well, not everybody has the luxury of a personal armed bodyguard entourage like Michael Bloomberg. And police, simply by virtue of the fact there are so few in relation to the overwhelming numbers of bad actors out there LOOKING for an opportunity to misbehave, cannot either be on the scene, or even respond in sufficiently timely manner to stop what is sometimes an awful lot of carnage in a very short while.

Michael Bloomberg, despite his apparent concern for harm that may befall his fellow New Yorker citizens, just does not have the empathy necessary to understand their very real personal situations.

And just because the teacher isn’t looking in exactly your direction when the rubber band is snapped against your ear, doesn’t mean the right person is going to receive retribution.

we’re not gonna protect you

Police do NOT "protect" USSC long since ruled they have no such duty. Don't try to pretend you don't know this, Bloomie.

Michael Bloomberg .... just does not have the empathy necessary to understand their very real personal situations.

He tried to push the 9-11 Mosque on them, even used his staff to help move it along, with no regard or sensitivity to the NY public.

same with the occupy movement.

How quaint. Haven't the past twenty years of politics proved otherwise?

The Kenyan must go.
