The truth of the incident isn't important next to the importance of the issue. I blame Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, and the Tea Party. If it weren't for the atmosphere of right-wing hate this poor woman would never have felt it necessary to scratch stuff into her epidermis.

The “victim” is going to be very nervous when she finds out the cops are working very hard on this case. What she probably didn’t figure is the fact that the perps supposedly set fire to her house while she was supposedly bound inside makes this ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE.

Wise advice from that DUmmie, because we've seen numerous 'hate crime' attacks over the years where the alleged victim was superficially wounded or suspiciously threatened and later had to recant their stories. The incidents are too numerous to list here.

People who are beaten within an inch of their lives or murdered, now that's something we'd overwhelmingly believe. Conversely, we'd expect to cynically examine someone's story that evil ninjas raided their home, tied them up with plastic trash bag ties, and scribbled a gay slur on their forehead with a felt pen before vanishing into the night.

I wish that liberals and conservatives could at least agree that anyone who fakes a 'hate crime' for whatever reason should themselves be punished for committing a 'hate crime'. Anyone who disagrees needs to explain why that doesn't make perfect sense.
