As the attacks on Nigeria's Christians continued in full force this past week, a particularly grisly attack saw fifty believers burned to death at their pastor's home, where they had fled for refuge from a terrorist attack.
Reports disclosed that over 100 people were killed by armed terrorists this past week, who went on a 12-village killing spree in Nigeria's Plateau state. Islamic extremist group Boko Haram has once again taken responsibility for the assaults.
Different sources have shared various reports of the number of lost lives from last week's assault on Christians, which have been occurring on a weekly basis for many months in Nigeria. But a story last week by the Baptist Press confirmed that about 50 members of the Church of Christ in Nigeria in the village of Maseh were burned alive after they took refuge in their pastor's house following a terrorist raid.
"Fifty of our church members were killed in the church building where they had fled to take refuge. They were killed alongside the wife of the pastor and children," said the Rev. Dachollom Datiri, vice president of the Church of Christ in Nigeria, in a July 11 interview.
Officials from the church confirmed that over 100 members were killed through various villages in Nigeria,...
"Nigeria is truly becoming the new killing field for Christians. Hundreds of Christians have already been brutally murdered including women and children by the Boko Haram," said Open Doors, USA spokesman Jerry Dykst. "The Boko Haram earlier this week said that all Christians need to turn to Islam or 'they would never know peace again.' Their goal is make all of Nigeria a country run and dominated by Shariah law.
Some Nigerian security officials have claimed that Muslim Fulani tribesmen, who populate the Plateau State, could have aided Boko Haram in their bid to get rid of Christians from the North and establish Islamic dominance over all of Nigeria."I don't think that Boko Haram could, out of nowhere, have raided these villages. They couldn't do that without local support and collaboration," said Nigerian criminal justice consultant Innocent Chukwuma.
"Attacks on Christian villages are not new in Plateau State, as Fulani tribesmen are known to have raided Christian communities in the past," further explained Heritage Foundation Africa analyst Morgan Roach.
"Should Boko Haram be responsible, this would deviate from its past tactics, which have tended to be more sophisticated," he added.
Nigeria's citizens have been critical of the government's response to the on-going attacks, and have called for more to be done to counter Boko Haram's terrorism activities.
Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has also called upon the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee for the U.S to officially declare Boko Haram a terrorist organization that the international community needs to battle against.
"This would be the equivalent of designating Bin Laden as a terrorist, but failing to designate al-Qaida as a terrorist organization," Ortisejafor told the committee in response to only select members of Boko Haram being branded as terrorists.
"There are certain Muslim extremists who believe that Nigeria must be an Islamic nation [and] Boko Haram is the body that is fronting for this group of persons
[Nigeria] has a very well divided population among the two major religions [Christianity and Islam], so it's not possible to Islamize Nigeria," the pastor added.
The “Reverends” are on their way.
When real retribution comes to the muslim world for the war they are waging against the West (i.e., judeo-christianity), I hope it makes what happened to Germany and Japan during their latter war years look like a picnic. So many millions dead they’d never raise a hand again against the West. Then I woke up and realized it was only a dream unfulfilled.
Jesus knows who his own people are. And he will deal appropriately with these killers.
October 27, 2008 Sen. Barack Obama campaigned on Marxist Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odingas behalf in Kenya in 2006 and, with the help of the son of Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi, raised nearly $1 million for Odingas campaign. When Odinga lost his presidential election, he refused to accept the results and incited riots resulting in thousands being macheted to death or burned alive in their churches.
A video shows Obama with Odinga at an HIV event and it shows the aftermath of Odingas rioters destroying lives and property after the election loss.
Obama traveled throughout Kenya with Odinga and spoke on his behalf at numerous rallies, according to The Washington Times. During his speeches, Obama criticized Odingas opponent, President Mwai Kibaki. According to Obama: The [Kenyan] people have to suffer over corruption perpetrated by government officials. Obama took trips to Kenya at taxpayer expense in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
His trip in 2006 was also designed to help Odingas Orange Democratic Movement strategize how to defeat Kibaki. Obama was supposedly in Kenya on a HIV fact-finding trip as part of his official duties as a U.S. Senator. The American taxpayer footed the bill.
The Odinga-inspired rioting resulted in more than 1,000 people killed by machetes, shootings, or having the homes burned to the ground. At least 800 Christian churches were damaged from rampaging, machete-wielding Odinga supporters.
In one grisly killing spree, 50 Assembly of God members were locked in their church before it was set ablaze by Odinga supporters. Those fleeing were hacked to death by machetes
This website details daily attacks by Moslems:
It demonstrates that the Islamic Jihad is worldwide - and we need to educate and start striking back to contain this virus that is spreading!
Is Holder sending guns to Boko Haram?
The church will continue to grow in Nigeria.
I seek their salvation while condemning the false faith behind it. And they will be judged according to truth. (Rm. 2:2) And in so doing, as to whosoever much is given, of him shall much be required, (Lk. 12:48) so those who know better, who were enlightened by the truth of the Biblical gospel, yet war against it, even to the point of favoring Islam, can be worthy of the “greater damnation.”
But may we all walk in “the fear of God and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost,” (Acts 9:31) by faith in the risen Lord Jesus, who gave Himself for us.
Oh, i thought he was a Tea Party member!
While BHO celebrates Ramadan!
“Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. “ (Galatians 4:28-29)
Boko Haramwas founded as an indigenous Salafist group, turning itself into a Salafist Jihadist group in 2009. It proposes that interaction with the Western World is forbidden, and also supports opposition to the Muslim establishment and the government of Nigeria. The group publicly extols its ideology despite the fact that its founder and former leader Muhammad Yusuf was himself a highly educated man who lived a lavish life and drove a Mercedes Benz.
The members of the group do not interact with the local Muslim population and have carried out assassinations in the past of any one who criticizes it, including Muslim clerics.
I am not getting into a religious debate but those worried about Mormons might find a better use for their time in fighting these atrocities.
Even "regular" muslims object to this "religion". IMHO.
And how strange that this was not reported much, if at all, by the MSM, which is so quick to implicate conservatives with rampages.
Where is Hussein celebrating today?
Monstrous evil. RIP.
Muhammad Yusuf was himself a highly educated man who lived a lavish life and drove a Mercedes Benz............................................. That’s like the reports I got from Iranians complaining about their imported mullahs that were brought in by Khomeini to lead Iran after 1979. Agrrrrrrr. Its Africa with all it’s clans and tribes, the dark continent continues to remain stuck in time with all it’s strife.
Obama's campaigning on the American tax payer dollar for the mass murderer, Islamist Odinga (who burned alive 50 Christians in their church and hacked to death those who tried to flee with machetes) was not reported by the MSM. They covered it up. The truth came out via Conservative web sites on the net.
Few Americans are aware of this to this day.
Oooooooh, those fun-loving moozlums. Who are we to judge? Aren’t all cultures equal? (ubersarc)
In the world according to 0b0z0, someone should of warned this family know how peaceful Islams really are... my heart pours out to these Christians.
Islam is the face of evil on planet Earth. No two ways about it.
yeah ya know it really galls me but it seems the only benefit to being a Christian is getting to suffer for it. Still, I am one.
Mormons. Muslims. Pagan. Devil worshippers. All the same.
There is something very disturbing about an American campaigning in a foreign country, especially a candidate for POTUS doing so.
It’s disturbing enough to be illegal, which it actually is. Obama skates.
So horrible..Prayers for our Christian brothers and sisters.
Meanwhile, we are more concerned about muslims killing muslims in Syria. It was “genocide” when nominally Christian Serbia fought muslim Albanians in Kosovo, warranting international sanctions and military intervention. The West is showing that it is all too willing to permit another Rwanda, whether it be in Darfur or Nigeria, as long as it’s not the muslims who are being slaughtered and the oil keeps flowing.
He broke the Logan Act by doing this.
Which he did illegally too.
I wonder if he ever apologized to the African Christian community for his sins against the Church?
When you do not value your own life,
How can you value anyone else’s?
Islam.. not for the squeamish
Scary thought since the church is in decline here...does that mean it will happen here? Inevitably.
The Catholic Church should inform the Christians in Nigeria about having a Secular Arm.
that which you have spoken in the ear in the chambers, shall be preached on the housetops
fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.
When large scale persecution of Christians has been present since the beginning, why should an American Christian feel that somehow they won't have to face this?
If Christians had burned 50 Muslims alive in Nigeria, it would have made banner headlines and evening new lead-offs across the U.S. The bigotry of the liberal media is nearly as appalling as the savagery of the Islamoterrorists.
Simple question to lib/msm: You say Barry is a Christian and NOT a radical muslim (redundant, I know). If he was a radical muslim, how would any of his policies and behaviors differ from what they have been?
Not at all!
And the world yawns.
Actually, rather than escape, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? “ (1 Peter 4:17)
What i see the Scriptures collectively teaching is that the Lord’s return is the “day of Christ,” and is the first resurrection the “resurrection of the just,” “the resurrection of life,” (Jn. 5:28,29; cf. Lk. 14:14; Acts 24:15) which “gathering together unto him” will not occur until “there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. “ (2 Thessalonians 2:3,4)
And which is when living believers meet the Lord in the air, and henceforth shall ever be with the Lord, and thus shall go with Him to the battle of Armageddon, and afterwards face the judgment seat of Christ, with believers being rewarded or suffering disapproval and loss according to how they built His church, but being saved despite this, as well as sitting in judgment of the lost at the resurrection of the unjust. (1 Corinthians 3:8ff; 6:2)
jeez, quite the stretch there, but whatever works for ya.
Gosh...one would think Hillary and Huma would rush in to defuse this callimity......
.....or how about Keith Ellison the Muslim Sen. from Minn-—he of MAS and CAIR.........
Ping for later
Actually, “do unto others as we would have them do unto us” - which atheists also can quote - presupposes an underlying morality in which what is right and best is expressed. What Hitler judge was best for others in the 1930-40’s is certainly different than what than he now thinks in Hell.
The general Christian faith was once the “civil religion” of the US, and reflected in its laws, which is now increasingly reflecting a decidedly different ethos. And is reaping the effects thereof: http://peacebyjesus.witnesstoday.org/RevealingStatistics.html
As said, Article 52 of the constitution of the Soviet Union (1977) stated, In the USSR, the church is separated from the state, and the school from the church, which is not actually possible in the ideological sense, and which meant that atheistic ideology would be the functional replacement for the void left by religion.
ACLU (atheists compelled legislation union) types seek the same, supposing that is what the 1st Amendment means, even though for over 150 years afterwards this is not what it was understood to mean (nor a theocracy).
I always try to remember these martyrs when I hesitate to share The Gospel and when I do remember them it's pretty easy.
Thanks for the info. But whenever any man presumes superior authority over the Bible, including formally or effectively claiming to be the uniquely infallible interpreters of it, then the souls as well as the bodies of men are in danger. And Mormonism is no different.
