We will NOT go quietly into the night

My dad who was on the deck of the USS Arizona on Dec 7th 1941
never wanted to talk about the war.
Years later when he was mayor pro tem of a major city he still didn't want to talk.
The man who wrote the book for Pearlharbor really wanted him to talk .
They set up a meeting with a professor and he was to tell what he knew about that day.
I read what he wrote finally after his death....
The line that really made me think was when he was describing how later in the night on Ford Island there was nobody in charge....
the professor kept pushing because I guess the thought was so foreign to him thinking that there must be somebody in charge.....
my dad told him everyone did whatever they were big enough to do......
when you think about WW2 things could have gone very differently .....

I pray that if the time comes when there are problems that our men and women will band together and with the Lord's help be big enough people to do what we will have to do.
