I am no expert but from my experience with cats, most of them show affection, connectivity and kitten feeding behaviors (hardwired I think) by “kneading” what they deem, the source of their guardianship. When kittens feed from their mother's teets, they press on the tissues around the nipple in order to extract the milk into their mouths. This behavior never really stops and continues throughout their lives. It usually recurrs only in certain situations where they feel very comfortable, safe and revert back to thier fond memories of mamma and feeding time. I would not worry about obsessive cat behaviors unless you are one of those folks who believe in cat psychotherapy. It's natural, safe and fun. Let the cat knead away!

Appreciate your reply. I recently got a girl cat and she loves to knead me. Sometimes she will settle down on me. Used to drive me crazy but now that I understand why, I can accept it better.
