They got in on the game early, when there wasn’t anywhere else to direct the gullible to everytime they started spouting off about the latest stupid email they got. So, they became “branded”, and that is hard to ever reverse.

Do you have any proof of that? I know quite a few people who use that site as a gospel for political truth.
