Obama On Listening To Bob Dylan In College: My World Opened Up MAY 29, 2012 BY DANIEL HALPER
President Barack Obama awarded Presidential Medals of Freedom today at the White House to Bob Dylan John Glenn, John Paul Stevens, Madeleine Albright, Shimon Peres, Jan Karski, John Doar, William Foege, Dolores Huerta, Juliette Gordon Low, Pat Summitt, and Gordon Hirabayashi. The award is the highest honor a president can give to a civilian.
When delivering his brief remarks about each honoree, President Obama thanked musician Bob Dylan for opening up his "world."
"I remember in college listening to Bob Dylan and my world opening up because he captured something that -- about this country that was so vital," Obama said. The president also noted that he's "a really big fan."
Bob Dylan started out singing other peoples songs. But, as he says, There came a point where I had to write what I wanted to say, because what I wanted to say, nobody else was writing. So born in Hibbing, Minnesota -- a town, he says, where you couldnt be a rebel -- it was too cold -- (laughter) -- Bob moved to New York at age 19. By the time he was 23, Bobs voice, with its weight, its unique, gravelly power was redefining not just what music sounded like, but the message it carried and how it made people feel.

Someone should tell him he’s related to George Zimmerman...;)
Yes....when I went to my LAST BD concert....he played like he had a plane to catch. So fitting for Zero.
I find myself doubting Obama ever listened to a Dylan record back in college. I’m thinking Barry Manilow or Leo Sayer was a lot more likely to be on the turntable.
Or maybe Rupert Holmes. Yeah, ol’ Rupe would fit, too.
The way that obama treats the Israelis should have made Dylan spit in his face.
And, why would a women’s basketball coach deserve the highest award this country bestows?
Was wondering the same thing. Unfortunately, I think I know the answer.
Betcha Obama couldn’t even name one Dylan song.
“My transcripts, my friend, are blowing in the wind... My transcripts are blowing in the wind...”
"Dubbing itself the Weathermen, this new organization took its name from a line in Bob Dylans 'Subterranean Homesick Blues''you dont need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows'and within months had set off bombs at the National Guard headquarters and set in motion plans to bomb targets across the country"

Look out kid
Don't matter what you did
Walk on your tip toes
Don't try "No Doz"
Better stay away from those
That carry around a fire hose
Keep a clean nose
Watch the plain clothes
You don't need a weather man
To know which way the wind blows"
Nice catch...
I’m sure he and Bill Ayers sat around smoking dope and laughter their asses off thinking about the people they blew up...
Yea, you know, me and my choom gang buddies loved, you know, just, ah, sorta sittin' around and passing the bong and like grovin' on Dylan and stuff like that. It was way cool.
Obama looks queer as a 3 dollar bill in this pic.

The second time I went out to California to attend Mohammad Hassan Chandoos graduation from Occidental College, Obama was enjoying the lavish lifestyle being financed by his friend and roommate at the time - Hassan Chandoo. The wealthy patron provided Obama access to big houses, lavish parties & had him dressed in the slickest clothes. I could have sworn they were both Gay & wealthy.
Those were some of the initial observations by Dr. John C. Drew, PhD, on his second encounter with Barack Obama who was attending Occidental College at the time. ..."
Anyone?
I have read that Bob Dylan is a political conservative and converted to Catholicism.
His songs from the 60 - 70’s were co-opted by The Left and the Anti-Vietnam War Movement.
"He [Bill Ayers] also writes about the Weathermen's sexual experimentation as they tried to 'smash monogamy.' The Weathermen were 'an army of lovers,' he says, and describes having had different sexual partners, including his best male friend."

Looks like he’s trying to hold on to the white, washed-out 60’s hippie vote.
The Left and the Anti-Vietnam War PRO-COMMUNIST Movement.
President Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Tuesday to Dolores Huerta, an 82-year-old labor activist and co-founder of the United Farm Workers union.Huerta is also an honorary chair of the Democratic Socialists of America.
DSA describes itself as the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International.
Huerta has claimed, Republicans hate Latinos, and has spoken fondly of Hugo Chavezs despotic regime in Venezuela."
What are the standards that must be met for this award? I just don’t see many names on that list that actually did something significant that brought freedom to others.
