I do not want any Conservative destroying their career by teaming up with romney. obamao will likely defeat mitt and that would destroy any future that a Conservative VP might have. If mitt does win, the press will destroy the Conservative VP as they did with Cheney and as a candidate... Palin. If snowe and jeffords are busy... maybe arlen specter will run with mitt.

I predict it will indeed be a “vanilla” VP pick. My prediction: Sen. John Thune, SD. SD is a pretty conservative state, so replacing him there shouldn’t be a difficult task.

Reminds me of the late Jack Kemp of Dole/Kemp.

I long thought Kemp could have been a good President - until he ruined his future prospects by associating his name to that 1996 LOSER ticket.
