I'm still trying to figure out how a "blogger" is any different than an editorial page writer. The new term, a root combination of "web" and "log," has somehow gotten a negative connotation, yet no one can tell me how the offering of opinions on ideas, events or whatever differs between "bloggers," and say, Cal Thomas or Walter E. Williams.

I'm sure there is a snide answer to this.

I love blogs, they are the new media, the dedicated diggers serve as a fact check and fact gathering source, which is especially important for local stories that are kept out of the MSM.
