We just found out that Newt Gingrich is going to drop out of the race for the Republican nomination for president. Yawn.
Thats the biggest non-news since last night when we learned that Mitt Romney won in Rhode Island and some other places. Yawn.
Well, we guess this means the field for president has been narrowed to the two serious candidates.
But wait. Wasnt there another candidate? . . .

Blogpimp? Well, it’s a blog of a well-read, and well-respected major newspaper. I’m glad such a journalist is participating. Notwithstanding the fact that Ron Paul is a complete nut job, and THAT’S why no-one gives a crap what he says or does.
How bad of a nutjob is Paul? He easily could’ve run a campaign on “See, I told you so” and and succeeded in getting a huge portion of the Republican vote on an economic platform that was liberal in the traditional/european/liberal sense of the word. But instead of donning the mantle of Reagan... which he totally could have done... he donned the mantle of Cynthia McKinney.
Which is exactly what the poster did and it's what the moderators want us to do. As for driving hits, I have to click through on ANY excerpted article. What's the difference? It's a blog, posted in the blog forum and excerpted as required, and you're pissed?
Try to keep up - read slowly -
This is ~HIS~ blog. This is ~HIS~ newspaper. ~HE~ has (in effect) demanded excerpt status. Then ~HE~ posts ~HIS~ articles for hits to make a profit -
- on a forum paid for by ~YOU~.
He is not here to participate, he’s here to use. He’s the user, you’re the usee.
You pay the fare. He rides for free. Get it?
Oh really?? Have you clicked his profile to see how much he participates, other than being the original poster? Hint: Not even once. That's not participating, it's pimping.
HE ~ Doesn't own the newspaper. HE ~ didn't demand excerpts, the newspaper did and they aren't alone.
If this offends you that much and if it's that big a problem, you should have NO PROBLEM getting JR to ban the account. Knock yourself out.
Get it?
Actually, you’re right.
Just a couple of weeks ago he had his account banned. That one was under the name “landsbaum.” He was using to to spam the forum with excerpts from this same paper on which he is a member of the editorial board.
There are also “friendly” news sources as well as some quality blogs that do not demand excerpting. As for JimRob’s opinion on this matter, perhaps you should read what he has posted on the subject -

(By the way, that’s the same link I posted to you on Friday, April 13, 2012. Evidently you either didn’t read or didn’t understand it.)
I read it. I understood it. The poster is still here. And you still don’t own or work for FR.
Gee. Wow.
All of my posts pointing out the pimp are still here too.
Looks like you don’t make the “rules” either.
How ‘bout that? I guess you’ll just have to live with me (along with one or two of the other “usual suspects”) pointing out the pimps when we see them.
Hope it doesn’t ruin your day. Really I do.
Excellent points, all.
Mark, have you anything to say for yourself?
Just for fun -

What’s your educated guess?
Are you implying that one must own or work for FR in order to have an opinion about blogpimps?
I had no idea. Are there similar requirements for expressing other opinions? Educate me, do.
You seem to have expressed opinions on this thread as well. What are your credentials for doing so?
Cat. Mouse. (:
Hey, you already had made your case with me.
And a gentleman FReeper you are!
I really was kind of interested to see if the pimp would respond, as I included him on the ping.
Must be out spending the quarters he made off FreeRepublic.
