Maybe so. But another way to look at it is that there were probably a lot of women who wanted to marry Bill Gates, if only for his money, and she's the one who actually was successful. In order to do that she had to get the proper training, get a job at Microsoft, and move up in the company with successful job performance until she was in the same room as Bill Gates. And that was just phase 1 of executing her plan. So yes, she is ambitious, but she must also be extremely smart. She didn't even have looks going for her so much, and Gates must have been very wary about gold-diggers. So if Bill Gates was looking for smart genes from his wife's side of the family, maybe he picked the right one.
