All day hospital people have been giving this mother conflicting information about her baby, then denying they did it. They have been doing things to that baby not allowed without parental consent. A social worker has been threatening to take the baby if she did not agree to things about which they would not answer her questions. Put yourself in Jodis shoes at this moment. You gave birth that morning in an ambulance. The hospital has made wild and conflicting claims about your babys health all day long. You are exhausted. You are in pain. Your husband has gone to check on your other children. And a social worker who has threatened to take your baby into police custody is standing in your hospital room demanding that you make an immediate decision. What would you do? Id take the baby and leave. But with todays child protectors that would make me a lawbreaker. They cant say what law, but the police would back them to the hilt. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! so the cops ended up taking the baby on the basis of the social workers claims. They claimed (a lie) that the child was suffering from illness or injury, which gave them the right to take the child.
When a judicial officer finally came and heard the case after the parents had been summarily thrown out of the hospital, he (she) returned custody of the child to her parents. Social workers these days tend to take in a lot more territory than they are entitled to, and the police back them to the hilt, no matter WHAT the law says. And they get away with it until REAL lawyers and judges can intervene. This is a travesty for somebody like Jodi to be subjected to this while going through the pain of childbirth. I wish I could say this is an unusual story; I cannot. It happens every day, all over the country. We need to put a stop to the overreaction of social workers (child protectors) backed up by cops who dont know they are breaking the laws they are supposed to be enforcing. There should be a law passed REQUIRING them to show the law theyre enforcing on demand BEFORE any action can be taken. They should also be required to recite something like a Miranda Warning before any action can be taken. Do you think that will ever happen? Doubtful. (HSLDA)
This is pretty thin on details,, lots of emotion. But i’m really not sure what occurred here,,,
Another reason to birth your children with a mid-wife!
Thank you, I thought it was just me.
They will take a child from a mother right after birth for it’s own good and these are the EXACT same people who want “Post Birth Abortions” or Infanticide legalized, especially in cases where the child is deemed “unfit for survival”....
It is not about right or wrong in those people’s eyes, it is about CONTROL! And they don’t realize how WRONG it is to be a control freak like the CPS people.
Where is CPS when someone has a 3rd trimester abortion?
No where, that is where.
At the bottom of the blog entry, there’s a link to the source article that gives details on what happened at:
Newborn Seized in Hospital by Police, Social Worker

[Home School Legal Defense Association]
Social Workers and Public School Teachers are some of the most frightening people on the planet. They would literally destroy humanity if told to, as long as they got a little gold star and a good report card for it. They are horrifying.
It is called human trafficking, the social worker might get paid/promoted on how many infants she can grab.
Anyway the government will pay for the “upbringing” off the child and by the time it is done, you have got a broken specimen afraid of its own shadow.
That is an interesting story otherwise,I would like to check on its veracity although to be honest that is typical...tell someone their rights have been effectively suspended and that put them in an unfamiliar situation.
Unless that individual has a warrant for your arrest and that includes law enforcement officers, don’t go along with anything that seems suspect. It is much easier to fabricate charges against somebody in custody then someone who walked off.
Where is the rest of the story?
Cops, hospital workers, teachers and social workers should pay damages when they overreach and violate rights. They should pay personally and at the agency that employs them when they wrongly attack a family. There should be no immunity. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. That is what we see in abusive child services and police behavior lately.
Paying out for violating people’s rights stops the violations. Employees are more careful because they have skin in the game, and taxpayers get engaged and furious at the loss of revenue for worker and management incompetence.
I agree—there’s definitely a need for a civil suit to bring these despicable, overreaching hospital and social workers the civil penalties they appear to deserve based upon the limited information provided. And the penalties need to be high enough to make sure they never think about doing such things again.
We have and recommend this program. Full disclosure: we are merely members/consumers, not representatives/account developers.
