Well, this was a gated community that had been the subject of numerous burglaries, and the suspected perps were "young black males". It was after dark, and he was not a resident of the community (nor was his father - it was the father's girlfriend who lives there). So Zimmerman, who apparently knows the area and the residents well, sees a young black male who does not live in the neighborhood walking through the neighborhood and seeming to case the houses. That looks pretty suspicious to me...
Come on, this is a 17 year old kid with no history of violence who was likely shot because of a tragic misunderstanding.
Well, there is at least one report of this kid with "no history of violence" beating down a bus driver. And now there are eyewitness account of this "kid" being on top of Zimmerman, banging his head against the concrete.
It’s quite possible that he’s telling the truth and he really thought his life is in danger, just as Martin must have thought his life was in danger because he was being followed by a stranger first by car and then on foot.
Well, if Martin though his life was in danger, he made a bad decision to attack Zimmerman and try to do a beat down...
I don't have a problem with any of what you just said, but there is still no evidence that he was doing anything wrong. He was talking to his girlfriend on a bluetooth headset while returning to his father's house (fine, his father's fiance's house) from the 7/11. Suspicious or not, he was not doing anything wrong.

And that one report is a twitter screen grab showing a post by "Tray's Big Bruh"????? I don't use twitter but I'm pretty sure that if I did I wouldn't reference my little brother's name in my username. I would be interested in this story if if it can be authenticated by someone but as it stands, it's pretty flimsy.

I'd probably make the same bad decision if some dude with an earring was following me around in his car at night and then got out of his car to pursue me on foot. I guess that means I deserve to get shot. Good to know. Should I ever find myself in a situation like that in the future I'll make sure to engage him in pleasant conversation so he doesn't feel threatened.

And, yes, I saw the FB question from some other kid (you say it was his brother). I didn't see any response saying 'yeah, I swung on him".
It would be better if everybody just stuck with what is known about that one particular night.
Once you start bringing prior "known" acts that can be substantiated by police reports then you start down a road that might not fit the narrative that you want. There are no "known" cases of violence by Martin but there are two "known" cases of violence by Zimmerman (as an adult).
It is also "known" through the Zimmerman tape that Zimmerman followed Martin but that Martin avoided a confrontation by running. Nobody here has any genuine knowledge about what happened after that call and before the 911 calls that reported the fight already in progress.
Based solely on what is "known" and not idle speculation, Zimmerman is the player with a history of violence who took the aggressive path that night.
If you have proof that contradicts this then please provide it...and Zimmerman's statement, in the absence of neutral corroboration, is not proof of anything.
