What good willed soldiers thought up the idea of allowing an enemy into the NATO camp? WTF? And where was the sense then?

There is also another pressing issue between Turkey and NATO.Turkey is one of five European nations that continue to house U.S. tactical nuclear weapons allocated for NATO.There are 90 B-61 nuclear weapons at Incirlik Air Base. Each of these bombs have a yield of 340 kilotons each. The NATO leadership at Brussels feel that the nuclear weapons sharing program hold a symbol of alliance cohesion and a demonstration of how the United States and NATO have committed to defending each other in the event of an attack. Removal of the nuclear weapons according to the “brilliant”(/sarc) generals and politicians in Brussels it would undermine the cohesion and raise questions about Washington committal to NATO and its allies
