They certainly suppressed the competition ~ and kept millions of unemployed young men organized, if not properly employed.

That seems to have been felt to be quite convenient by German state and local authorities ~ the very sort of behavior we saw with mayors' coddling "Occupy.....".

Imagine, Hizhonor, Mayor of Nyork, Bloomberg, behaving just like the mayor of Frankfort (e.g.) during the Weimar Republic period. Oh, my goodness!

Still, so expected, and so typical.

Contrary to the false belief of so many modern people, Hitler and his Nazi party didn't walk into a vacuum all by themselves. That's just the street theatre part. They took over a nation given to brutal solutions to minor issues ~ and fit right into the parts prepared for them.

The nazi rise to power was anything but meteoric or direct which makes it pretty confusing due to the shifting alliances that occurred.

I guess that’s why I promote “The Rise” so much. It touches on the various groups and their parts without getting too bogged down in details that would bore most viewers.

“This is not the story of how Hitler siezed power

Its the story of how the German people gave it to him.”
