Occupy joins Tea Party to oppose phony ABAG-MTC One Bay Area planning process

Occupy Redwood City has announced they are working with the Tea Party to shine the light on the One Bay Area process. Occupy Redwood City has to date never spoken with anyone from this tea party group about this issue. We want to point out that the Tea Party adamantly opposes the ONE BAY AREA plan as entirely unconstitutional. We agree with OWS that the public input process and the regional bodies pushing it have been less than transparent and there is no accountability to the tax payers. However, we do not think having more rigged workshops is the answer. Here’s the headline from the RedWood City OWS press release.

Occupy Redwood City (ORWC) officially endorsed a proposal to lock arms with environmental activists and Tea Party groups as a response to what some Bay Area residents are describing as a regional planning effort to greenwash California law SB 375 (Steinberg). The groups intend to protest the upcoming Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) executive board meeting on March 15 in Oakland to decry the lack of transparency and accountability in the planning process and to demand that regional agencies hold public workshops in all Bay Area cities and unincorporated communities. ORWC is proud to be the first Occupy group in the region to call attention to this issue and is calling on all other local Bay Area Occupy groups to join them on March 15.

This whole ABAG-MTC process and plan are unconstitutional and must be abandoned!

The Government should not dictate how and where the people of the Bay Area will live over the next 30 years. Plan Bay Area calls for policies that violates private property rights and infringes on the civil liberties of individuals. The workshops are rigged and the outcome is predetermined. This plan must be stopped.

I guess MTC and ABAG are going to have to finally admit that the Tea Party is not their only opposition! Things are getting more interesting by the day!

The ABAG Executive Board Meeting, which meets on the Third Thursday of every other month will next meet on: March 15th at 7 p.m. at Metrocenter Auditorium, 101 8th Street (at Oak Street), Oakland CA 94607

Let’s all show up.

Good for both Occupy and Tea Parties to collaborate on common issues.

Pinging the Agenda 21 folks for an interesting wrinkle...

If you want to be on or off the Agenda 21 ping list, please notify me by Freepmail. It is a relatively low volume list in which we have been exploring the UN Agenda21 and related topics. We have collected our studies with threads, links, and discussions on the Agenda 21 thread which can be found here:

SmithL, you stated that,”...The workshops are rigged and the outcome is predetermined. This plan must be stopped.”

Watch the government bulldoze ahead even though they are now opposed by virtually all segments of society. This is the age of 0bama now. Screw the people, full speed ahead!

Don’t know much about this. Is this a Kelo v. New London on steroids? When I was in Minnesota, a lot of MN liberals had a hard time grasping the concept that they actually agreed with Justices Thomas’ and Scalia’s opinion in the Kelo case.

From scribd:

“HOW COLLECTIVISTS USE THE DIAMOND TACTIC TOSWAY PUBLIC MEETINGS AND HOW TO THWART THEM

by G. Edward Griffin

In the 1960s, I came across a small training manual distributed by the Communist Party that showed how a small group of people – as few as four – could dominate a much larger groupand sway the outcome of any action taken by that group. It was called the Diamond Technique.

The principle is based on the fact that people in groups tend to be effected bymass psychology. They derive comfort and security from being aligned with the majority, especially if controversy or conflict is involved. Even if they do not like what the majority is doing, if they believe they are in the minority, they tend to remain silent and resigned to the fact that the majority should rule. This being the case, the Diamond Techniques is designedto convince the group that as few as four people represent the majority.

Here is the strategy:
1. Plan ahead of time what action you want the group to take: nominate or oppose acandidate, support or oppose an issue, heckle a speaker, or whatever. Everyone on your team must know exactly what they are going to do, including contingency plans.
2. Team members should arrive at the meeting separately and never congregate together.
3. Team players should arrive early enough to take seats around the outside of the assembly area, roughly in the shape of a diamond. They must not sit together.
4. The object of the tactic is place your people around the perimeter of the audience so that, when they begin to take action, those in the center will have to do a lot of headturning to see them – to the right, then the left, then the rear of the room, then the front, etc. The more they turn their heads, the greater the illusion of being surrounded by people in agreement with each other, and the more they will be convinced thatthese people represent the majority opinion.

I have seen this tactic used by collectivists at numerous public meetings over the years, and I have participated in it myself on several occasions when confronting collectivists in theirown tightly held organizations. It works.

The only way to thwart the Diamond Tactic is to always be prepared to match it with your own team. Never take a meeting for granted, especially if something important is scheduled to transpire, such as nomination of officers. Even a simple gathering to hear an important speaker can turn into a nightmare if opponents send in hecklers.

So, always plan for the worst and be prepared to spring into action with comments from the floor such as: “I want tomake it clear that these people do not speak for me. I am in total opposition to what theystand for. In fact, I would like to ask them to identify themselves. Who are you? Why didyou come to this meeting? What is your agenda?” If comments such as this are heard fromthree or four people around the outside of the room, the meeting will be very exciting, but the tactic will be defused.”

I don't know anything about this specific case either but I do get the feeling that governments, from the local to the FedMob, are caring less and less what the constituents say about them.

I suppose my cynicism may be running ahead of reality but I think it's getting winded and about to drop out of the race. ;^)

Are you telling me those greedy liberals aren't willing to part with their property for the betterment of revenue enhancement? Friggin' evil one percenters!

My husband received an invitation to a seminar course put on by some group that call themselves the Petroleum Institute for Continuing Education. In reality, the group has no connection to the petroleum industry.

The title of the seminar is - Workplace Wisdom for Handling Friction Between Generational Groups.

This one-hour seminar will examine how a "new world view" is influencing younger employees and their philosophies on life and work. If you find yourself shaking your head and saying "I just on't get where this person is coming from", it is imperative that, you understand that they aren't going to grow up and be like your - their approach to work will remain very different from yours. What is even more disconcerting is that thos born prior to 1964 are now considered immigrants in their own countries, wile those born 1965 and later are the natives. So, now they are targeting oil industry execs with propaganda for the New World Order, to help them understand the "new world view". I'd join the course, just to see what they are saying, but it costs $95.

I've been trying to explain how out of whack the WA state GOP as well as the TeaParty, but this notice that I just received from the Whatcom county TeaParty should explain it all:

Featured Speaker - Sharon Hanek (Sustainability/Smart Growth) was well received and provided valuable information on Washington State educational curriculums that represent the global perspective versus the sovereignty of the United States.

How many TeaParty organizations across the country, support sustainability?
