“I am by temperament inclined to believe that people are well intentioned in their dissent on issues of substance.”
That temperament needs an adjustment.
Those “well intentioned” people could very well be infiltrators planted in the Catholic Church in order to subvert it, just as has been done to many of the so-called “mainline” Protestant churches.
Undermining religious institutions was a goal of communists during the Cold War and I don’t see that their successors treat religion any differently than did the old Moscow line commies.
What part of “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” do these people not understand?
If you can keep prayer out of our schools because of “separation of church and state”, then that “separation of church and state” probits you from coming into our churches and telling us what we must do!
I REFUSE to accept the chains of this regime.
The First Amendment is the Freedom of Religion not just worship.
It’s hard to remember the Obama administration ever acting as quickly in response to criticism from the opposition as it did last week on the HHS-mandate issue. The White House must be panicking due to their internal polls.
It’s one thing for Jewish-Americans to be upset about the shabby way Obama treats the secular prime minister of Israel, thereby showing his contempt for Israel, but, in this case, Obama is giving the cold shoulder to the leaders of one of America’s leading religions — Cardinals and Bishops who were appointed by the Pope — thereby showing his contempt for Catholicism, religion in general, the Constitution, and everything else Americans hold sacred.
Unless Obama eliminates the HHS mandate and publicly bows down to Cardinal Dolan, as he did to the king of Saudi Arabia, it’s going to be a long election year for Obama.
