No Obama, Jesus would NOT Support Taxes on the Wealthy

Fuzzy theology coming from a fuzzy messiah.

At the annual prayer breakfast this morning, President Obama suggested that his proposed tax increases on the wealthy are in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. No, really.

Fact is that nothing in the New Testament record supports a point that Jesus supported heavy taxes, much less the support of the poor, or the lazy or the crazy on the backs of those who worked hard to make a success of their life. The verse Obama would likely use is.

“”Render therefore to Caesar that which is Caesar’s and to God those things which are God’s”

However, Jesus wasn’t making a specific statement on taxes. In fact he deliberately failed to pay the temple tax in the account that led to this saying. He provided the basis by saying “So that they won’t take offense”, but after a question in which the obvious answer was that “the sons are free (from the tax)”.

Of course Obama spent 20 years listening to Jeremiah Wright who’s theology is heretical at best, so what would he know anyway.

Render therefore to Obama that which is Obama’s and there is not much left over for anything else.

I'll also add that the Christian Plan of Salvation is based on individualism. It's not collectivist or communal in any way, which are at the core of Marxism.

The church is good with ten per cent.

But if Pastor Zero had his way, we would tithe 100% and government would return what it didn’t need.

So much for `Render unto Caesar.’

Did he happen to cover where Jesus might come down on killing babies? Didn’t think so.

From what I understand, Jesus didn’t care about the soul or right and wrong, repentance, redemption, honoring thy parents etc. - the ONLY thing He cared about was MORE STUFF for the poor. That’s true, right?

Conservatives believe it is our personal responsibility to assist those in need. We also believe that we should have the freedom to choose the charities that we want to support. Liberals believe it is the responsibility of government to forcibly take money from one group and give it to another.

This is why conservatives give far more to charities than liberals (e.g, compare the millions of dollars that Romney contributes to charities each year with the $3,690 in charitable donations that Biden makes each year). It also explains why all of Obama’s close relatives are living in public housing or in huts.

If I recall Jesus was specifically asked about the legality of paying taxes. His reaction was to “Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s and unto God that which is God’s”. The Roman empire had disparities of income as great or greater than we have, and Jesus came face to face with that and with Roman officials. If he had thought that Christians were to take care of the poor by paying more taxes and by insisting that government take a bigger role he could have said so. But, he didn’t. He told US to do it, not the government.

It ain't Monty Python's Flying Circus but it is a laugh-out-loud riot!

Obama Jivethon's Lying Circus' hilarious wild parody of small-town Pennsylvania features the President in the family quarters clinging to his guns and Bible.

"'What would Jesus do? Hallelujah!' says President Obama to Michelle as the movie opens. Hallelujah!' cries Congresswoman Pelosi . . . .

Someone needs to tell Dumbo what Jesus would say about using our tax money to fund abortions. open ended predator strikes in countries where we are not at war, and taking money from working families to fund ridiculous fraudulent wasteful energy scams that enrich friends of barack and make the world of many poorer and darker and colder

Someone needs to tell barack whether Jesus would pay $38,000 to have dinner with barack, or $3 to buy a raffle ticket for lunch

Someone needs to tell Dumbo how Jesus would feel about barack not taking his children to church, about moochelle spending millions on parties clothes and vacations, and about barack refusing to use the the name of Jesus when issuing Christmas or Easter greetings from the white house

Someone needs to tell Dumbo how Jesus would feel about barack’s silence or vapid moral relativism when Jews and Christians are massacred by muslims on a daily basis

Someone needs to tell Dumbo how Jesus would vote on
partial birth abortion and live birth protection acts

Someone needs to tell Dumbo that Jesus knows the names of those unborn children Dumbo has called “punishments” that a woman need not be forced to bear because the government will abort them

Someone needs to tell barack how Jesus would feel about his followers being sneered at as bitter clingers

Someone needs to tell barack how Jesus would feel about barrack publicly giving his middle finger to Sarah Palin and others with opposing views

Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods.

That's one fifth of the big 10 right there.

Wow...so both the right and the left can use God to explain their philosophies...I wonder what he said about cheating on their spouses?

Jesus didn’t give us the 10 commandments, but he followed them. As to cheating, there is a commandment that covers that, too. There is no commandment on whether to vote for a cheater who might otherwise be a good President. Jesus did speak a great deal about forgiveness, however.
