49ers win 29-23.

“The stats and hype indicate a Saints win by a score of 49-28 or some such blowout. Forget the stats; ignore the hype. “
You made that up, so we’ll ignore it.

Here’s hoping the “flyover country” teams kits the coastal liberals cities butts.
Go Saints, Broncos, Texans and Packers.

Good defense beats good offense as surely as good pitching beats good hitting.

So far so good, and can I just say as someone who doesn't really follow the AFC, may the Broncos pull off a stunner and a) showcase the good that has appeared in the NFL and the country, and b) stun the media and give joy to all who will enjoy watching the disbelief. Go 9’res and go Broncos!

Currently 7 - 0 Niners with the first quarter winding down. We’ll see......

I am rooting for both teams to lose.
I have despised NO and everything about it, especially the football team after all that boo-hoo Katrina crap, especially in their SB year.
I was from Los Angeles (born and raised) and, as every knows, hating SF is part of our DNA.

It appears that the Saints have taken a page from Les Miles’ LSU book and decided to play sans their offense. 14-0 49ers already.

I'm for the Saints, whose name is said to have been inspired by a

So far, late 3rd quarter, one of the more brutal games I've seen recently. 49ers definitely want it, they are hitting hard. Graham has whacked the back of his head on the turf twice. The pundits speculate he's not acting quite right, but I guess the concussion rules go out the window in this situation.

OK. So I was wrong... about the score!
But, I was looking prescient until the final minute-plus.
Quite a game. Thank you Alex and Vernon.
The Saints were excellent. They have great heart, and skill. Condolences to the fans.
The Niners will lose next week on the road in Green Bay. But, they made their point.
