FRiends, this is all a big part of Hussein’s re-election strategy: do stuff that appears to moderate or separate him from his buddies in the unions and the Occupy movement.

But he is only posing to appear strong...he encourages this kind of anti-capitalist behavior.

Very interesting, but isn’t Port Security already part of the Coast Guard’s charter?

This is an interesting development because the Obama administration has close ties to the ILWU.

The ILWU and SSA are attempting to build their own coal and grain terminal in Whatcom County, WA. Obama has been putting pressure on state officials to get this done. Patty Murray has written a bill to fund the terminal, which will be run by SSA, the company that employs her husband and is owned by CARRIX, which Goldman Sachs owns.

Obama’s ties to the ILWU go deeper than that though. The ILWU is a communist union which was heavily involved in the Hawaii liberation movement. To further this effort the ILWU bought a newspaper in Hawaii and hired, Frank Marshall Davis to write for the paper, Obama’s special Black mentor during his school days in Hawaii. In other words, Davis worked for the ILWU. Obama wouldn’t forget that.

The ship will be transporting grain to Asia.

Oh what tangled webs they weave when politicians practice to deceive! Back the OWS then crack the OWS. Obama at his finest!

I haven’t read much on this.. is the union the problem or the occupiers? If it’s the occupiers, just spray some soap around the perimeter. If it’s union, just tell them they have to put in a whole day’s work. That should get rid of those problems without the media frenzy. Wait, make the union workers pull a full forty hour work week spraying soap on the occupiers.

Hussein’s such a __________. If he hadn’t encouraged the bozos, he wouldn’t have to send out the guard.

President Barack Obama’s administration has ordered...

That's pretty darn vague. Who in the administration?

I bet Obama himself had nothing to do with it.

He wants to create a Kent State scene. He will have military guys firing on civilians if he can. Leftists put the brains full of mush in the front lines in clashes with police officer in the 60s so they would be radicalized.

I have an extreme liberal in-law here in Vermont who was at the occupy protests in Burlington, also NYC, and DC. He also recently told us that he went out to Oakland and participated in the dock occupation there. Evidently he had a great time.

He said that the ILWU didn’t have time to hold a vote on whether to strike, but the union leadership encouraged the members to informally strike and not cross the protest lines. I don’t know what the OWS protestors thought they were accomplishing, keeping the truckers waiting in the parking lots for an extra day or two—many of them probably independent truckers who have trouble making ends meet at a time of high fuel costs.

I imagine the same thing is happening in the incident described here. Not an official strike, but the dockworkers are refusing to cross the protest lines, regardless. And the only purpose I can see from the operatives behind this is economic chaos, which serves the Communist aims of the union leadership and the politicians.

Particularly offensive to me in reading the San Francisco Labor Councils condemnation here is seeing the deep disdain they place on our military services. Reading the resolution you find,

“Whereas, now the US military, which has been oppressing, bombing and threatening other nations [a military that’s paid for with the workers’ taxes] is now being used against us, against American working people and our unions. To quote ILWU international President McEllrath: ‘ILWU’s labor dispute with EGT is symbolic of what is wrong in the United States today. Corporations, no matter how harmful the conduct to society, enjoy full state and federal protection while workers and the middle class get treated as criminals for trying to protect their jobs and communities’.”

Such language is what we could expect to hear from the malcontents in the Occupy Anything But A Bar of Soap people as well as the low-life anti-war crowds who see the Military and those serving in it as something less that human, worth only their disgust.
