While I realize that the headline is a sort of pun, there were “mundane astrologers,” those whose focus is not upon individuals but political entities such as nations, who claimed that Obama could not have won the 2008 election, that the charts were too unfavorable. There was even one who claimed that Palin was alone among the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates for whom it all worked. This is from a bunch that as a whole is decidedly not in favor of US political conservatives. It likely pained them to admit what their efforts indicated.
And, before anyone chimes in and pounces with the Biblical admonition against such, the Bible contains many astrological references, not dealing with individuals unless condemnatory, as in the instance of Herod, who sought personal gain from it, in an attempt to control future outcomes for himself. This was clearly regarded as being wrong. There are other instances, the most notable being the Star of Bethlehem, that are dealt with in a positive manner.
Along those lines and as an example, a case can be made for the book of Revelation to contain astrological terminology, that essentially replicates that which originally compelled the Magi to go seeking the Lion of Judah, King of the Jews, born of a virgin. Many of those who posit a September birthdate for Jesus Christ have relied upon this to some extent, along with proximity to feast days. The implication of the presence of this in Revelation has led some to speculation regarding the “season” of the Second Coming. Dangerous territory, too, approaching date setting in the eyes of some.
So, make of it what you will. It was interesting, either way. 2008 was a strange Presidential election in more ways than one, with some indicating that the stars themselves proclaimed Obama a fraud.
got any links for those “mundane astrologers”?
Well he was never properly sworn in. Which, in administrative law, is literally everything.
So, if Obama wasn't sworn in... who was?
