Particularly grating to many of us is the superficial dislike of some to regional accents. Rick Perry has a west Texas accent, for heaven’s sake! I’d rather hear that than harsh New York or Boston accents.
If your choice of candidate is based on how they pronounce words, it’s your loss.
Amen! Of all the shallow, supercillious, simple minded reason to attack a candidate that one takes the cake!
I lived in TX 26 years and have no problem with Perry’s accent. My concern is that he can’t string two coherent sentences together without sounding like English is his second language. I know he’s not, but to the uninitiated it just makes him look stupid.
